Propellerhead has managed to cram the legendary ReBirth soft synth into the iPhone. It’s tiny and would undoubtedly be much easier to use on the iPad. I would be so excited if Prop built a new type of synth software with these UIs in mind.

I like the litl. It’s by far the best designed netbook I’ve seen. From reading the specs it sounds like a fun, snappy device (atom processor, custom linux.) No offense to the developers (if their software is anywhere as nice as their hardware, litlOS is great) but I prefer to choose my own OS, maybe UNR with a lot of key remapping (no function keys!)
The Silent Drum is a drum with an elastic surface, which adapts to the shape of the hand that presses it. This surface is analyzed by a video camera and the data resulting from that analysis is used to control sound events.
